Leer 100qx or xl
Howdy all, been watching from the sidelines for some time now as I narrow down to the right vehicle, then config...this forum and the information traded within has been invaluable!!!
My question is around toppers/caps...is anyone using one or looking to? I have a Leer 100xl on my current pickup and it has been a good unit. I'd like to put a lid on the new rig when I do pull the trigger, so just curious if anyone has first-hand experience?
Also, when one does put a topper on these new 11's, do you need to remove the plastic bed rails?
Thanks! (btw...narrowed my focus to the 2011/2012 F-250, KR...black two tone)

I had a Leer 100XQ on my 07 Cummins. It was nice and had the electronic locks on it so you did not need a key etc. I did not go with a topper this time because there were so many times I wish I did not have it on. The 100XQ is a nice product for sure. I think the 100XL's look better on the Fords though IMO.

I had them add Thule rails to the roof, not that I'm likely to want to carry much--if anything--up there, but just in case.
And the most important part--the optional removable front slider so you can clean between the topper and the cab.
As for Sgt93's comment about the times when you want the topper off, yeah, no doubt about it (or a good excuse not to do something). I've found I wanted the topper on more often than not, but I have other trucks I can use without toppers, and a forklift to take it off if needed, so on my '05, I only took the topper off once in three years (two years before that with a hard tonneau cover, and that was in the way a lot of times).
