Came across this about a Calgary man's F-350 being stolen twice - in the same morning. Yikes!

I guess he should of sat in the back seat and waited for the cops the first time. Also doesnt the security chip in the key make it impossible to jimmy the lock?

 

No way that it was a 2011+. Only way it was if he left the keys in it or a key close inside the cab as a spare. No the security chip doesn't prevent somebody from physically breaking in, but there is ALMOST no way that these trucks can be stolen like how they used to. Only real way is flatbedding it. The new PATS is incredibly secure.

 

I have auto start on my 2012, I think it is the same as a 2011. With autostart if you put the truck in to gear before using the key the truck will shut down.

I would not doubt the guy but something is wrong.

Yeah 2008 was when the trucks got PATS. 2007 and below are pretty easy from what I hear.
