Cold natured

I just bought my diesel 2006 f250. It is starting to get cold at night here in Ga. It does have a cord for the block heater. It starts and with proper warm up runs fine. If you get impatient it runs rough....starting and letting it warm up is not a problem for me I'm early when I go somewhere.....What is the proper course of action?

Welcome to FTE.

What oil do you use, how old is it, and what filters do you use?

Have you ever pulled the EGR valve and cleaned it and is it the original EGR valve?

Has it had the latest flash update (Ford updates the processors)?

diesels by nature are somewhat coldblooded. the colder it is the harder they are to light. Try cycling the key a few times and let glowplugs run there cycle.
the glowplugs saty on for up to 2 min. they are on even after the lamp is off.
