1994 351wEFI rebuild GT40 or GT40p heads? Exhaust?

I have a 1994 F150 300 I6 EFI 4x4 and I just picked up a 1994 351w EFI to swap in after I do a complete rebuild so all feedback helps about swapping and rebuild. I see a lot on here about 351w with carbs but no fuel injected. I'm thinking of the WEBER Redline fuel injection upgrade I don't really know what else is out there. I'll probably just port and polish the intake myself or a machine shop I'm not looking to spend a lot and I like doing it myself. And unless someone thinks there's something to get out of the GT40 or GT40P head, (also which would be better and what I would need to do to make them fit) I'll use stock or pick the GT40 from the junkyard and P&P them. And what should I do about the cams? GT40 Cams? .Also not sure about exhaust... can I take this off the truck I'm pulling the motor out of?

slow down tiger

what tranny do you have in the F150. this will dictate what you do about the efi system. is the motor you picked up complete from head to toe or is it just the block and heads?

what are your goals, uses and needs. you might think about posting this up in the engine forum. the swap should be pretty strait forward because most everything you currently have in the rig minus the tranny would need changed.

the tranny dictates the EFI system? how? And right now I have a E40D on my 300 I6 but am putting in a maunal 5 speed that I'm about to pick up...I know that most Ford trannys swap in and out and I have a list of a few I want... The ZF S542 from a Ford I suppose the donor vehicle should have EFI? Or I might get the M5R2.....If the manual trans I put on now will not fit the 351, then I will pick another tranny up later. I can get them around $50 i dont know about the ZF though I see it might be harder to find tho...I'm pretty sure everything should be easy cause the donor will definitely be a 90-95 I have lots to choose from here

well the e4od talks to the computer and vise versa so that efi system you mentioned would also need to have a stand alone system for the tranny. going to a manual ZF is a good idea, just make sure it has the small block bolt pattern.

i would recommend getting the entire MAF Harness and computer from a 94 F150 5.0/manual tranny setup. u will run the computer also of course. the harness will work on a 5.8 just fine and the mass air computer will not care about the 5.8. I would recommend having the efi tuned once you get your motor built up. This would be a cheap route to go and also be PLUG N PLAY.
I would also get the radiator, frame towers so you can get that motor dropped in.

That all helps me a lot and yes I was looking at those DIY PnP systems....but you are sure about the computer?the MAF and computer will work from 5.0? I thought I had to get 5.8 wouldn't it just be better and easier it's on my donor engine vehicle. But if both work and you know for a fact cause they're both 8cyl? then let me know cause it's good info to keep in mind
thanks

You need a wiring harness anyway going from the I6 to a V8 so I agree finding a MAF version is the way to go, I'd suggest you plug in a Mustang EEC however(A9P, A9S) as they are more tuner friendly. And yes a 5.0 MAF computer will run a 5.8 no problem, had that exact setup in my truck for many years. Fitting GT40 heads on this motor is easy just have to drill the bolt holes out to 1/2", and the 5.8 lower will need some port matching work at the heads for sure. For a cam I suggest the Comp 35-320-8, it's a "HO" grind roller cam that will produce a very broad powerband in this motor.

Cleveland heads will not work with a Windsor EFI intake.
