hey i have a 1997 f350 psd. i shut it off one night and went to start it and all it did was turn over but no start. i went through everything has good fuel pressure oil pressure. i replaced the ipr valve which tells the truck to start and stop. replaced the camp position sensor and still the same problem. i wanna say that the injectors just arnt firing, which leads me to believe that it is the ECM. or the Fuel Control Module. any suggestions or anyone who has had similar problem. anything will help. thanks,

Tyler[/quote} i would say idm but that is always what i go 2 first since it was the last thing i tryed last time and thats what it was, lol if i have a flat tire it has 2 do with the idm now! lol

 

how much did that cost to replace and how hard

 

the idm?? it was 50 bucks 4 bolts hold it on and one undose the wires, now how much did i spend to get to the 50 fix??? lol a lot more than 50 bucks more like 1200

Did you check fuse 22 under the hood? My truck died last night and it turned out to be that.

 

That's what I was gonna say. If your wait to start light is not coming on it will almost certainly be fuse #22.

 

first fuse i checked. i replaced the ECm today. and still same problem. guys i am at a loss

 

Back to basic's for a second. Do you have a WTS light? Also does the TAC indicate some RPM when cranking?

 

Just wag , without any testing , IDM ...

Do you know anyone with a scanner ?

 

RPMS move when cranking and there is a WTS light

 

I like Rick's WAG. I would disconnect the IDM and give a good shake next to your ear. If you hear water it is bad. (I't could also be and not hear water too). Have you any codes?
RPMs generally rules out the CPS and the WTS generally rules out the PCM/ECM

 

Same thing happened to me this summer. I came home for the night and parked it. The next morning it wouldn't start. I had it towed to the shop and it turned out to be the computer. They did all the things like ck the IPR and ECM and put in a test computer and it fired right up. Might be something to look at.
