painting unibody roof question
I am prepping the old unibody for a quick paint job to make it look presentable as a daily driver. I am wanting to two tone the body. My dad has a gallon of chrome yellow laying around and I think all yellow will be a bit much. I think a white or off white traditional two tone will tone it down a bit.
On a standard back window unibody, where do you tape the side of the roof. Do you go from where the door meets the cab down to the bed bodyline, or paint inside the indention of the rear pillar all the way around?

One of Ford's factory two-tone schemes for the '61-'66 F-series came all the way down to the bottom of the hood line, then back over the doors (including the window frames), and continuing the same line back over the box. Then the cab top got the body color instead of white. So the hood was white, but the cab top was body color. Maybe that would be called three-tone....
On my '64 F-350, I just took white down to the break at the pillar and around under the back window on the same line. Window frames on the doors stayed body color too. Same on my '71 Dodge and '56 GMC, which is a more traditional two-tone style compared to above.

1961/62 & 1963 Uni's w/o side mouldings.
The tu-tone paint was divided along the scallop line that runs thru the cowl, door and quarter panel to the taillamp.
Many 1961/66 trucks were tu-toned with the secondary color being white.
Following that scheme: Yellow roof, white above the scallop line (inc. all of the hood and the door's window frames), yellow below the scallop line.
If a 1963 with side mouldings, I'm not sure how the tu-tone paint was divided. I have factory photos of tu-toned Uni's w/o side mouldings, none with.
Note: Uni doors have a straight thru scallop line. Non Uni doors have a scallop line with a "dog leg."
