85 F150 Bedliner paint job
Just wanted to share with you all my Upol Raptor Bedliner paint job and see what you think, good or bad. If anyone is interested or thinking of doing this also I can let you know the does and don't do. I learned a lot on this project and I'm looking forward to doing my 4runner next.
It cost me about $500.00 for everything start to finish and took me 2 weekends.

It looks good. I'm in the process of painting my 86' right now too. I was thinking hard about doing what you did and just bed lining the whole truck. For right now I'm just stripping the surface rust and using Rustoleum Rust Reformer primer to the bare metal spots. I'll probably end up just painting a glossy paint job close to my original color. I like the idea of having a tough coating on it at least half way up the truck or the skirts. I would use the Rustoleum bed liner for mine, the can says it's supposed to go to bare metal though, what about yours? I think most people do take it down to bare metal, so out of curiosity, why didn't you?

I used Dupli-Color bed liner on the inside cab floor and the bottom of the cab floor after I replaced the floors & rockers.
I did not and I don't remember it saying it had to be down to bare metal.
I just made sure it was free of dirt & oil / grease before painting. I did 2 coats on both sides.
Has anyone thought of Rustoleum roller paint job?
Do a youtube search, you prep the body as you would for normal painting and roll on the first coat. let dry and wet sand it smooth and roll on another coat. do this like 4 or 5 times and you are all set.

I've been wanting to do an entire truck in bed liner, because I use one HARD, and haul stuff and tools, etc. I love it. Any tips you'd care to share would be appreciated. I've also looked at the thinned rustoleum stuff and that is a ton of work but low money. I've also had a slick glossy paint job on my old galaxie after I'd done all the paint work, and the super cheapo fast paint job place did it for $1400 and it looks great and has held up well (base and clear). BUT, again, I removed all trim and did all prep. But for $1400 investment it turned out great.

I've considered this for the lower sides of my truck.
Looking at painting the truck white and doing black liner from the fender Wells down. Seen a few trucks it looks really good on and gives good protection. Jury is still out on that though. Would love to see a write up of what you learned.
