stepside box swap

Has anybody tried or seen swapping a standard shortbox on a Superduty with a stepside from an F150? My fenders are rusted pretty good and I found a stepside for sale at a reasonable price and the lightbulb went off in my head. I could make a one of a kind pretty easy.
Thanks, Dave

It wont work, not even close. Frames are different, wheel bases are different. the front of the bedside are made to blend into the F150 cab. Assuming that we are talking about the 97-03 or the 04-10 flareside bed. You may be able to modify an 80-87 to fit fairly easy.

It would be easier to make a custom box with parts from MAR-K Classic Truck Parts made in Oklahoma City, USA Or build your own bedsides and use modified Super Duty dually flares to bolt to the sides. i think fenders off an 87 flareside would work too.

I would be a cool project. You could do wood bed floor and all.

And thats why I asked. I would have figured it out pretty quick with some measurements, but that wasn't happening sitting at my desk. It would definitely be a one of a kind to pull it off though.

i was thinking that a 150 bed with dually flares would work on a SRW super duty.
combine that bed with a regular cab and a 6' bed and you have a hot rod truck that can tow!

You would need to make a custom narrow box. The F150 bed wont work (unless you find an 80-87 flareside bed which could be adapted very easy)

Another option would be to find a Super Duty short bed (short DRW bed IF you could find one), section out the bed to narrow it, then hang dually flares on it.

The 97-03 F150 and super duty's use the same tailgate so the width is pretty similar. A 150 bed with dually fenders would still be wayyyyy too wide.

He said f150 not ranger you know. Beds would be similar. Dimentions. The front of the bed where it lines up with the body would probably be the biggest issue.
