TPS on a FI 5.8 F150
Ok I have a bad TPS on my 1992 F150 5.8 with all of the right codes. Picked one up yesterday and went home to find that it is located under the throttle body with hardly any access to get at it. **The question is do I have to take off the throttle body to change the tps?** Has anyone had to change one on a 5.8. I changed one on a newer 4.6 and the 2 screws were stuck in there pretty good. And Ford uses some cheap phillips head screws that strip easy. HELP!

I think you do have to take the throttle body off to replace the TPS. Be sure you mark where the old one is with good pencil or marker or something, because they have to be lined up a certain way. Be sure you get a new gasket for the throttlebody to plenum. You only have to take four bolts out (and maybe some stuff on top) to get the throttlebody off so it's not a big deal.
