Country Love Song Suggestions

Ok, so I'm inlove with one of my closest female friends. Does anyone know any good songs about being inlove with a friend? I'd prefer country, but anything but pop, heavy metal, and (c)rap could help. Thanks in adavance.

I don't listen to any new country as the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flats changed the sound forever.

Something from George Strait, Alan Jackson, Willie...............etc.

This goes back a ways, but, find the song, "You are the Woman" by Firefall.

Here's a video of it. Sorry. It's the only 'studio' version that I could find.
YouTube - You are the Woman

As for country, try "Carrying Your Love With Me" by George Strait, or, "You'll Be There" by Faith Hill.

Try this one:
YouTube - Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed-K.Friedman
But only if you don't mind sleeping on the couch.

Seriously, though, George Strait is the best crooner, or troubadour, our generation has, IMO. Try "I Cross My Heart."

A couple of others:
Kenny Chesney "You Had me At Hello"
Travis Tritt "Anymore" (caveat on this one... watch the video with her, it'll melt her heart)
Keith Whitley "When You Say Nothing at All"
That should do it for now... I'll think of some more later.

Should have asked earlier, but is this girl in love with you, too, or are you trying to win her over? The type of song could be different for each scenario.

Here is a classic that you can't go wrong with..

Could be concidered a Country Song..

Who better than the King of Rock and Roll to make a woman fall in love..

The song is "As Long As I Have You" by Elvis from the Movie King Creole.

Think I'd go with Friends by Razzy Baily. Seems like it fits pretty well.

I shoulda clarified earlier. She knows I have feelings for her, she has no idea how much I care though, she thinks it's just a crush. I'm not sure how she feels, one day she acts like she likes me, the next she'll barely speak to me. Lets just assume I'm trying to win her over.

Toby Keith - "You shouldn't kiss me like this" might work.

That's what women do. They **** with your mind.

Men are strong. If a man is cold, he builds a house. And that makes you feel good. Not just the fact you're warm and dry in your house. But the satisfaction you get from building it yourself.

Women are weak. A woman can't do anything for herself. If she wants something, she has to trick a man into getting it for her. And that's what gives her the most satisfaction. Knowing she can manipulate a man to do things for her.

I know there's women out there who change their own oil, and hold down full time jobs. But it's gonna be a long time before women stop acting this way.

So you shouldn't dwell on this too much. If she's not interested move on. Music is more fun when you're happy and have someone to enjoy it with.

Music isn't they way to do that, son. You need to get her on a date. A real date- flowers, dinner a moonlit walk somewhere. Talk to her. Don't start thinking she's going to hear a song and immediately relate it to you. Music doesn't work that way. Now, when you're on that date, you could play some of these songs and dance with her by the light of the moon with your truck stereo playing. Hmmm, my anniversary is coming up and that gives me an idea...

Not country, but some good love songs:

Kiss - Forever. IMHO, the best acoustical rock love song ever written.
Firehouse - Love of a Lifetime is a GREAT love song by them.
Firehouse - When I Look Into Your Eyes is another great one by them.
Steelheart - I'll Never Let You Go. Another rocking good dating song.
Journey - Faithfully. If you are truly serious about this girl, this is THE song.

NOW, if you are really looking for something classic:
Percy Sledge - When a Man Loves A Woman.
Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful Life.
Ben E. King - Stand By Me.

Well said, Stu!!!

kentuckyredneck,

Ask that young lady to go out and have dinner, maybe a movie, or even go to a concert.
In other words, take her on a DATE!

The old adage, "Woman, get in the truck, buckle up, hold on and shut up", just doesn't work.

My Theory on the song was to learn to play it and sing it to her, or to have it playin in the background when we hang out. I'd try to ask her out, but we're still in highschool (no one tell me a teen don't know what love is) and her step mom is nuts about dating stuff and probably wouldn't let us go out.

Well, young fella,

Buy her some flowers and go over to her house and talk to her.
Be honest with her, about your feelings.

Don't be surprised IF she tells you she just wants to be friends.
Rejection happens. It's a part of life.

Almost 37 years ago, a young woman that I met only wanted to be friends.
We've been married for almost an eternity, now!

That's about what I was planning to do.

Thanks to everyone who commented. The wisdom on these forums never ceases to amaze.
