Tire/Wheel dilemna for towing - need advice please
Hey Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted on here - been busy with a new born son (woohoo!) and getting our basement developed. I hope everyone is well!
It has been a few years since I last did a heavy-ish tow (which was in summer) and I have yet to tow anything with the Ex - until now. I will be going to Vancouver in mid November to pick up a tandem axle 18' trailer (7000lb GVW), a 4 post hoist (1600lb) and a car (3800lb). Plan is to load the car and the hoist ramps onto the trailer and then load the rest of the hoist components into the Ex.
I have two sets of wheels and yesterday I changed out my 20" wheels with General Grabber HTS for my 16" stock wheels with BFG All Terrain A/T KO. After they were on (of course), I noticed that the BFG are a load range D whereas the Generals are a load range E. Looked up the load rating per tire and the BFG are 3368/3074lb per tire and the Generals are 3748/3472 lb per tire. The reason I swapped out the tires yesterday is that the BGF are a more aggressive tread and is more ideal for winter.
So seeing the difference in load ranges, it made me wonder if I should have swapped out the tires before the trip to Vancouver. My original thought was the BFG would be better for whatever I may encounter driving over the Rockies middle of this month. However, the load rating and what I will be hauling and carrying are concerning me somewhat.
I drove on the Generals all last winter and they are fantastic but I never hauled anything with them.
So my big quesiton to you towing experts is, please put yourself in my shoes and tell me what you would run on the truck for the trip.

FWIW,I've towed my travel trailer (about 4500lbs)with another 1000lbs give or take in the truck on load range d bfg at and had no noticeable problems.I would say you'll be ok,but it's up to you.

Trailer is about 1800lbs, car is about 3800lbs and the ramps I would guess are about 200lb each. So total trailer weight would be about 6000lbs. Assuming my guess on the ramps is correct, then I would be loading about 1400lb in the truck. I'll be pulling out the third row so I can try and distribute the load evenly inside the Ex.
I was told that the Ex has a Ford factory lift on the truck. The seller said it was called a load levelling lift, or something to that effect. Not sure what it is really. I think it is about a 2" lift.

Thanks for the feedback Steve! That is encouraging for sure. I had read, in some of my searching, that having a load rating too low can make towing a bit of a headache. So I guess the question is if another 1500lbs on the trailer would adversely affect this at all.
I'm going to have some steep hills (up and down) to contend with as well. Just thought I would mention that in case it has any bearing on the suggestions made.
