Still going strong but has a "noise".

2009 Edge SEL, front wheel drive, V6, 70000+ mls. I am 6'2" tall and 265#s and the vehicle is still plenty comfortable. Not as compfortable as my '08' Lariat, but still a blast to drive. Love the vehicle and no issues whatsoever.......until recently. The car has developed a growl, in the rear it sounds like. Almost like I am running mudders instead of Michelins. Thought it might be the tires so replaced all 4 with new of same type. Still there. The noise frequency increases as speed increases. Not just when rpm increase....but as the wheels are turning faster the noise gets louder and "faster". Doesn't really have that harsh metal on metal "feel" to it. Sounds like you are holding a screwdriver aganst the treads as the tire rotates. I drive freeways as I travel and this growl is not pleasent after 7 hrs or more driving. Not quite sure what to think. Any ideas

Sounds like a wheel bearing.

Yes, some sort of rotating part on the rear axles. Not sure what type of bearings these FWD vehicles use.

Had to have the left front wheel bearing replaced at 79k as it was making a noise at hwy speed especially on curves to the right. It would almost go away on LH sweeping curves.
Sometimes when unlocking the doors remotely the drivers door will re-lock. The button inside drops back down. The car has been trouble free mostly.

'07 with 100,000

My brother has an '07 with 100,000. Other than a transmission at 70,000, no problems. And eve with that, Ford treated them right. Happened just outside of Amarillo on their way back home to Socal. Good folks at Ford in Texas.

Nearing 44k.
Replaced Both rear hub assemblies, including rear control arms, per TSB (all covered under power train warranty.)
Had a PS cooler hose let go, easy fix.
All else is well.

We have an 09 Edge SEL AWD. It has 70k miles. Not one problem. Excellent in all weather. Best vehicle we have ever owned, by far!

2007 Edge FWD

My wife and I own a basic 2007 FWD Edge w/o leather, navigation, and glass roof. We originally leased the vehicle, and we were so impressed by it's handling, functunality, etc. that we refused to give it up. Currently, the odometer is just below 71,000 miles, and besides having some A/C and heater core issues that were covered under warranty, the vehicle has been pretty flawless. We did experience issues with burned-out taillight bulbs, and luckily not as bad as others who had the wiring damaged. The symptoms we have experienced include having to replace the bulbs about once a year, so literally we have already replaced both the left and right about 3 times. Definitely, a good purchase.

2009 SEL with 94K, no problems, runs perfect. Best tank was 26.2mpg, most of the time I average 22-24 depending on how much city driving.

Bought wife a 2009 Limited AWD used at 30k miles a month ago.

She couldn't be happier. (We both gave up on Sync voice recognition for navigation, though.)

I, on the other hand, must now find a BlueTooth/Nav double-din system to install in my 01 F250 now. That is one feature I love about that Edge....
