1999 F 150 5.4 Starting Problems

Have starting problems some times , cranks over real good but will not fire . When this happens i have no fuel pres. But after it starts then it will run good This problem usually happens first thing in the morning. Is there a fuel pump relay in this system or do i have a bad pump . I only have 85,000 miles on this truck. Hope someone has some answers.

Thanks Don

If its happening early in the morning when its cold it could be the fuse in the box under the hood not making good contact due to the temp. Heres hoping its just that for ya man.

Problem is no one has anything concrete to go on but guessing.
How do you know you have no fuel pressure short of measuring it with a gage?
Crank sensor or it's connector could be faulty, PATS system could be preventing a start, cam positon sensor could be faulty preventing fuel injection sequence, faulty relay contacts, IAC not opening up for cold start high idle, etc. or any one of a number of things yet to be found.
Tests are in order to find the action preventing the start, then the fix comes.
You own computer control, so it's not a guessing game.
Are there any codes stored?

Seen it before spray a little non chlorinated brake cleaner or carb clean near the base if the plastic intake probably have a vacuum leak from the rubber gasket. Truck warms up gasket swells no more leak.

My bad should have scrolled up some and read the original complaint. Thats what I get for using mobile version. Only thing I've ever seen like what the original complaint was an expedition that had a Leaky windshield was dripping into fuse box inside the truck.
