I haven't updated mine in a while, so I can say that my 2000 Ranger just hit 156,000 miles. I guess my ranger is just middle age compared to some of you. Lol

im nearing 140,000 miles, only drive 12 miles a day total if i just go to work and back, so i dont quite have the odometer ticking away like i used to. the wife's blazer however is a '97 with 180,000 and gets roughly 50 miles a day put on it. wich i could justify getting her a kia or something less thirsty. cant complain about the blazers milage though, it does better than the ranger, weighs 1,000 pounds more and has more motor. must be the 3.42 gears, the ranger has 3.73 its about a 500 rpm difference in top gear at 55.

Impressive Numbers

Some really impressive numbers in the mix!! I appreciate the mileage postings in the taglines too! Only 93,500 on my 2000 Ranger with 2.5l engine and auto tranny. Like most folks here, starts on the first turn everytime over the past 11 years. The only time it quit was when I realized last December that I was still operating the truck with the original battery. Still on the original exhaust as well, but I've been in the process of replacing the original equipment that's finally showing its age. I'm inspired to try to catch up to you fellow Ranger enthusiasts!!

My ole girl has the original exhaust as well and just clicked over to 203,000. Failed me the first time a couple weeks back, had a driver side front caliper hang up and cooked the pads on a 20mi trip to town. Front wheel was smoken near the end of the trip. Didn't pull to the left like I thought it should have, but... the caliper took the big chit and cooked what "was" a fairly new set of shoes. New calipers, shoes, and flex brake lines and all is good once again.

Ranger Mileage...

'02 Std. Cab 2.3 DOHC, Automatic, 4.10's. 193K hard miles on the clock, with about half of it towing a trailer with weights up to 3000 lbs. Nothing but oil changes, air and fuel filters, coolant, trans. and diff. services, two sets of plugs, one set of wires (at 177k), one set of rear shoes, and a few sets of front pads and rotors. I still can't believe it, but the original battery is still in it.

The trans. has been going away for about 15k, but I can't get it to give up. (I have a 17K engine and trans. to install when it does). Additionally, the engine gets revved to the moon regularly and has been absolutely stone reliable.

I have had about 15 Toyota trucks of 1979 to 2003 vintage (currently still have a 2007 Tacoma), and I would put this Ranger up against any Toyota used under the same conditions.

I have the same engine in an '05 Focus, and that thing runs so hard.

I drove mine off the lot in december of 96 with 8 miles on it, it now has 214,000 miles, I put a new clutch in at 180,000 (to be expected) and a few other miscellaneous low cost parts along the way. The 3.0 is what is the most impressive other than plugs and wires and a lot of oil changes I have not done a thing to it. There are 0 oil leaks. I would get in it now and drive it anywhere!! Oh one more thing this is the first summer in 15 years I had to give it a little shot of freon to chill the A/C down a little. Sorry for the long post but I am proud of my little ranger.
