WILL AN AFTERMARKET WIPER BLADE FIT?
Trying to install a 20 inch ANCO winter blade on my 2008 ESCAPE but the arm doesn't have the standard 90 degree bend like an F150.
Is there a trick to installing these? None of the plastics adaptors seem to match up to the ESCAPE wiper arm. Original summer blade has two little push tabs on either side to temove it so...does this mean I need a proprietary FORD winter blade?

Sorry... I completely read past the year in your first post... Too much yardwork today... The only good monobeam wiper I found that fits this thing is the Latitude, at least from what's available down here... We don't get winter blades, so I can't help you there. I guess if Rain-X makes a winter blade, they might work...

Goodyear Assurance blades are beam types and there is a listing for 08-09 Escapes. They are $8 each at Costco. Last month, they were buy one, get one free--$4 each (I bought the limit of 2 pairs). They have been lasting me a LONG time. There are a ton of adapters in each package, more than I've ever seen with any other blade. Goodyear Wiper Blades Applications - for FORD If the beam blades will work for you (they do for me, in Michigan winters), the Goodyear Assurance deal from Costco cannot be beat. George

After our recent snowstorm here in the northeast and dealing with frozen wiper blades. I went to Walmart and bought 2 Anco winter blades, after spending more then a few minutes trying to remove the blades from the Escape. I finally figured out that the tabs and the rounded end are all part of the blade and are removed as one piece after squezing the tabs [new fangled stuff]. But there was not any adapter in the pkg. to fit the arms. Back to Walmart to return them. My store didn't have too many 20 in. blades.
I went to Autozone and bought 2 Rain X Latitude blades, supposedly good for rain, sleet and snow, time will tell. They look good, and they did have the correct adapter to fit the Escape arm, I read the instructions a couple of times to figure out how to change from the adapter on the blade to the Escape adapter.
The 2nd one took 2 minutes after spending considerable time [much more then 2 minutes] on the 1st one.
