97 F-350 Surging......

Need help I have a 97 f-350 that has an intermittent surging problem, I have been told by others that I should ck the crank sensor. Well after looking under the truck it looks like a cam sensor and dont want to blow the money on it unless it is it , any help or other input would be appreciated..KOLE

A little more information would be appreciated. When does it do this surging? Does it do it after warmup? Does it do it at certain rpm range? Make believe you are trying to explain this to a lawyer.

It seems to happen while cold around 35-45 mph, once warmed up it seems to go away,or if I press down hard on the gas it will go away also...

It sounds like there is air in the system somewhere or you are suffering from gelled fuel due to water. Try to add some type of fuel additive for cold climates and see what happens.
DONT ADD GASOLINE

Let me describe it better, it is when the engine is cold not the temp outside
