I don't think the original poster has stated if he's using the factory wiring or if the trailer wiring was tapped in elsewhere. I was just pointing out why 87 XLT is stating that a converter is not required.

Usually its the bad ground on the truck causing led boat trailer lights not working. Give your rig a simple, but thorough, visual inspection. That involves checking the vehicle-to-trailer connection and all ground connections
