ok according to my vin, my truck came from the Memphis TN assembly plant. production number 20399 i guess. I have put a electric motor in mine I just left the vacuum line in place and caped it off. I really think I am going to put the vacuum motor back in place. I think is just cooler to have. lol was there a vacuum canister or something else that was in this system to help it? mine is ran straight to the motor.

The parts manual lists different motors for 48-50; 51/52; and 53-55. But the replacement motors are the same from 32 to 56 car and truck! So the mototrs are probably interchangeable. Arms and connectors were different.

Here- go shop!

Ps Don't get rid of the electric one you have - you probably won't like the vacuum motor.

well here is where I am at so far, I got the cab and front fenders patched, flat, primed and painted. Not too bad for a two car garage I might add. all new weather stripping, anti rattle kit, 2 new windshields lol, now to just finish up the teeths in the front and I can make room to start the bed. I could help but to take it down the block and realized my first major mistake, I put the thermostat in backwards, the radiator cap didn't vent and boom it went, Pretty impressive If I don't say so myself. lesson learned. lucky me the motor didn't get too hot all the fluids seem to still be in the right places and compression is still good. My oil sender started leaking so I am on the look out for a new one as well as a water temp sender, and gas tank sender If I can get them at the right price, Is there a difference between the 6v and 12v? I am sure they are, but maybe they are interchangeable? Ill shut up now and post the pics

Don't worry, mine is in England for at least the next 4 years. If I even bring it back by then. Lookin to find a unique british hotrod to bring back then build me another truck later.
