how much should i offer or what's it worth(cad)

im new to this forum so i just thought id say hello buy asking a question

im in love with the 1953-1956 f100 and came across a 1953 that im interested in
but i currently dont have enough money to own it. im about 3000cad off of what he want's.

here's a little info on it

rebuilt late 70s ford 302 with mild cam
rebuilt c4 auto transmission with lokar shifter
9 inch rear end with 355 gears
dual exhaust through glasspacks. the way this truck sounds still blows me away. very mean, very crisp. it sounds just like an old hot rod should. NOT like a muscle car or any other store bought exhaust. this is the real deal.
new custom made lucky 7 drop axle up front with eaton lower springs.
flaming river "vega style" steering box
new bfg t/a radials front and back on gennie wheels
new kingpins
rear end spring perches kicked up beside frame to keep ride quality while still lowering the truck 5 inches out back.
rebuilt brakes with drums front and rear. this truck stops on a dime. i drive 150+ km a day on the 401 in rush hour and have no problem cruising at 120 or 130. drives straight as an arrow and stops as fast as anything else on the road.

body is original, i drove to st louis to pick this truck up and have spent the entire srping/summer and now almost fall without one single issue. the body is super solid and straight and all original paint. an average guy could have this truck solid and in primer in a weekend no problem at all. OR leave it as is and enjoy the character only an old custom can give.

all rubber and glass has been replaced. i have the rubber for the windshield but i havent changed that because well...it works just fine.

i was going to wait to do the interior last on this truck with plans of an early 60s show truck image. plans have changed for me and i need the space for my hot rod and new projects to work on over the winter.

11 000 dollars is a steal for this F100. literally change the plates and drive this truck ANYWHERE. i trust it more than my new truck and have had it on very long road trips. runs a steady 180 and doesnt get hot even sitting stopped in rush hour in the dead of summer. rain or shine hot or cold this is the truck to do it in... this trucks a real head turner as it should be.

i really would like to get 11k for this but if you catch me on the right day and come check it out i might be open to fair offers
no low ballers and no trades thanks

There's a "Read First" sticky about how to post pictures on the forum page. If you don't feel like fooling with that, e-mail (to babbiebuddie@***.net -no more than 3) the pictures to me and I'll post them for you.

Welcome to FTE

Robert,I'm not really a 53-56 kind of guy,but that is not,at least here in my part of Cali,an 11k truck. Some others might not agree. Not sure the conversion from Canadian to U.S. dollars, but that seems to me like you're going to spend at least that much again - and probably more - to complete the bodywork and paint.

I know it's comparing apples and oranges, but look what U.S. $7500.00(probably less) will buy you here:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/2020655910.html

9K or less:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2016617710.html

6k:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/2022942843.html

2500.00:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2019445633.html

Lot's of deals like this all the time, but you've got to please yourself.

Canadian money is actually real close to USD now. I agree, that's not even a $10k truck, more like $4k IMO.

Guess it depends on your location. That would be a $6-8K truck here in the Northeast...

I agree with Vern. 6-8K (american dollars) here too from what I've experienced. Location is everything. I'm just glad I know what a "cad" is now.

My wife says I act like a cad from time to time, that's for another thread, though.

I was poking around eBay and craigslist tonight and ran across a gorgeous '56 with Boyd wheels, a custom flame paint job, tilt front end, and the whole works for under 9 G's. Keep looking. I know they are a bit scarce in your neck of the woods and it might be necessary to pay a premium, but that looks like about a 3000 to 4000 dollar truck to me. 2 to 3 times the average value is more than a premium. It's robbery.
