Ask if the plugs have ever been changed if it ever blew a plug. Also ask about how much oil it burns. Some of the v10's burn a lot of oil. Also check transmission fluid and see if it is brown and burnt smelling. Ask about transmission issues. The 2000 Ex does not have a big enough transmission cooler. Some were upgraded with a radiator tank pass through and some were not. The better situation is the radioator tank in series with the external cooler. The less than best situation is you have the small exterior cooler only.

The good: $20 oil changes, will last 400,000+ miles, can get fuel anywere, easy to work on, very very reliable and dependable. Can pull anything and has smooth power from 1000 RPM all the way to 5,000.
The bad: if you put the spark plugs in wrong, they will come back out.
An Ex means your looking at the less powerful 2V V10 with 310HP, not the 362HP 3V v10. It also is likly to have the 3.73s, which are not the best for the modular engines. The manifold bolts are not the strongest, fuel mileage is 16 at best and can dip down to 9 city.
Towing, it ranges from 13.5 all the way down to 6.5 if your working it hard enough.
The ugly? Well, I like it but allot of the guys used to diesels don't like the sound of it wound out to 4K pulling a load. Thats where it pulls the hardest, and it does not harm it, even for long amounts of time.
