i've never seen a zf in a 1/2 ton, and until i do i'm still calling bull****. no ****ing way they used them in 1/2 tons, but only on I6's, and in bronco's. #1 late model I6 manual broncos are like unicorns(and i don't mean ghey, i mean non-existant) yeah occasionally one pops up, but i only hear about them never see or drive them. #2 why the hell do the f150's with I6's have the pos mazda tranny? #3 who the **** else has ever driven in a factory manual transmission half ton(or bronco) with a compound low(granny gear) first gear since they switched to 5 spd's???? (chirp chirp) that was the crickets you hear when there is dead silence. show me, and i'll believe, but until then i say it stinks like **** and i don't agree. no light duty zf's unless they weaseled them into that pos 7 lug light duty f250 abomination in the late 90's.

does anyone else remember when saturday night live was a huge deal and actually effected everyday life like movies news and comedy???? who the **** is on there now???? no body that i know. jesus, i'm 25 and i can't tell you **** about current "stars" because there aren't any. bunch of goddamned idjets acting retarded. snl was awesome, now it's a joke. i hate the information age more than i love it which is ironic as hell because i'm telling a bunch of people i've never met over the internet. **** me

No idea on zf's in half tons, I know the 351w's got the e4od and c6 which were the heavy duty transmixers that got used behind all the engines in the 3/4 -1 ton trucks. Seems like the mazda 5 speed wouldn't have been enough to go behind a 351w. Were the 351w's offered with a manual in the half tons??

A nice warmed up 351w (nah 408 stroker) with a stout manual tranny, a 3.55 or 3.73 gear and a good posi in a 2wd regular cab short box might make a fun little stoplight runner.
Some day when I grow up... maaaybe

There is some misinformation on the first page. You can find a 4 speed with that uses a hydraulic clutch system, but as stated later, they are a PITA to locate a good one, any 4 speed will bolt up as long as it has a smallblock bellhousing, the bellhousings all interchange on the 4 speeds. The M5OD-R2 is the one that came in the fullsize trucks while the M5OD-R1 came in the rangers/exploders, the M5R2 and the ZF DO NOT use the same slave cylinder or clutch line.......I realize the OP has already purchased his transmission but if someone searches the forums (yea right) and finds this, they will get some misinformation and don't need that. I'd love to get my hands on a ZF for under 450 around here.....you got a smokin hot deal on that setup for 235 and can proceed to kiss my *** lol. Even the M5R2's are selling for a pretty penny around here.

In all seriousness though I havent felt the need to rake anyone over the coals lately. 73Ford *** and Tinian arent posting much anymore and I have Prozit on my ignore list.
Good job newbs. Thanks for keeping my blood pressure at a reasonable limit while alcohol consumption is at an all time high.

speaking of blood pressure, i stopped taking my pills because they made me feel like **** and i blew off another visit to the dr.
checked my blood pressure at a store the other day: 170 over 110, sad to say, but that means it has come down some. i can hardly wait for that first heart attack
