They used the same windshield trim until about '96. Don't know of any rubber moulding. But, just paint the trim satin black. Unless you want to pay for the black trim from Ford they used on the XLS trucks.
Oh ok, I didn't realize they had the chrome trim as well. Mine are just all beat up but I'm sure I could find a donor at the JY if up till 96' is the same. Thanks
I wonder if that would work Lowpala. Seems like they use the same windshield.
Bruno, there is one BIG change in the windshields. 1980-86 the VIN number is roughly 2", maybe more, further in from the left side than 1987-96/7. Most windshield places only keep the late windshield in stock as it physically fits. The problem comes at the lower edge, the later windshield has a blacked out section all the way across, except where the VIN location is. If you install a later windshield in the earlier cab, the VIN is no longer visible.
At least here in VA, it is a violation and will not pass inspection. Early windshield in later cab, no problem.
Lowpala, the windshield is glued in with a buytl strip and the trim is held on with clips.
Ooohh! That's why you can't see the VIN on my truck lol, I never could figure that out. We don't have vehicle inspections here so it's no big deal but always wondered about that.
The trim pieces for the later model windshields are much cheaper so I guess I will go that route. Thanks for the info.
Here is a link to a thread about when my windshield was replaced. Some new windshields come without any blacked-out band. The blacked-out band is custom applied and it came out very neat.
Started swapping out the seats and found a nice rusty spot on the floorboard last night. Seats are from a bonneville, full power and heat so much better than the bench. I've got more leg room and can actually recline, wonderful.
nothing unfortunately. My 61 f100 is getting the floors and bed welded. Once I get it back I have the entire interior to put in. I got some 69 mustang bucket seats, a headliner, door panels and an 8" power brake booster to go in.
Done nothing to mine lately but drive it every day. Came about 2 feet from getting the front end ripped off by another car last night on the way to work. If I wouldn't have put those new tires on, I'd have skid right into the middle of the intersection. Won't be using that damn intersection again until they have the traffic lights working. Screw that crap.
Dang that'll get ya to pucker up! Good thing it was just a close call, which reminds me I need new front tires bad! Once the roads get slick I'm done for
I need to round up two spare wheels and get some studded tires, so I can have studded tires on the rear for the winter time. However, That looks like it'll be around $400-$430 out the door. Damn tires are expensive, especially studded tires. However, it's that or go into the ditch or the back side of someone else's car.
