drivetrain noise 2010 Explorer
I have a 2010 Ford Explorer (Eddie bower) with drivetrain noise. Turning right the noise (roaring) pretty much goes away. Replaced both front hub bearings with SKF (which I believe are among the best). Still had the noise. Replaced right hub bearing again thinking I got a bad unit. Still had the noise. New fluid in both front and rear differentials and the transfer case-no improvement. Had to tell exactly where the noise is coming from. I have a little movement laterally in both CV axles in front. Not sure how much movement is normal if any. The vehicle has 145,000 miles on it. Anyone had this issue or has some input on my problem? Hate to keep replacing parts and not correct the problem. Thanks!

Does the noise only happen above or below a certain speed? Have you tried rotating the tires to see if that changes the sound? Does the sound change if you lightly apply the brakes? Are there any other details you've discovered or things you've tried that might help with the troubleshooting?
