MPG with 60 F100 factory overdrive,4.11 and 292?

What kind of MPG would a 60 F100, 292 ,styleside ,SWB with factory overdrive and 4.11 axle expect to get?

The overdrive ratio is .70 and the overall overdrive ratio with the 4.11 would be 2.82! I wonder if it would break 20MPG?

And it must be strange when the overdrive is engaged when the OD handle is pushed in and the truck free wheels down a hill!

Are parts still available for the T-86-H overdrive transmission?

Does anyone on this forum own a factory overdrive 60 F100---if so-how does it drive?

I don't have a 60 truck, but I do have a 56 fairlane ,292,3 speed overdrive, 3:89 rear gears. I havent drove it for a long time, but I believe it got about 20 mpg or better as long as you kept it in the overdrive position. I think they did freewheel a little ,like i said , i havent drove it for about ten years so i'm not sure.

I am looking at a 60 F100 with the 3.89 (code 2) rear axle and T86-H and when in overdrive (.70) the top overall ratio is 2.72! I wonder what a careful right foot could get on the hwy-I bet that you are right about +20MPG.

I think they would, back when I drove it all the time, gas mpg was the last thing on my mind. Listening to the loud dual exaust was the first thing and to make it loud, you kicked it down. L.O.L. I'm looking for a later overdrive, I think they came out in the 70s behind the 390, not sure on that. they were a little stronger I have heard. I would like to put one behind a 302 in my 79 f-100.
