300 six install in a 1960 4x4

I would like to install a 300 six in my 1960 F100 4x4 and could use some guidance. The person who owned the truck before me cut out the transmission cross member and the engine towers/stands from the frame.

Are there engine towers/stands that I can purchase to mount the engine so I can use standard motor mounts for a 300? I know they sell universal transmission cross members but wasn't sure for the towers.

Any help on actually positioning the engine in the bay or locating the towers so I can weld them would really help also. Thanks

The tranny was free hanging off the bellhousing. The bellhousing had ears on it that mounted to the frame. That is also the rear motor mounts. The engine then was mounted off the front of the block to the crossmember under the radiator. You sure the previous owner cut anything out?
Do you have the independent transfer case still in the truck? You'll just have to stuff that engine in there and make some mounts!! Sound easy from here. LOL

Truck was stripped of engine, transmission and transfer case. The previous owner said he was going to try and install a 454 in the truck. He cut all the mounts out, just the frame rails left. I will be installing a 300 I6 and ZF transmission. Since everything is already cut out I plan to box the frame first and then install the mounts. Other than keeping some clearance between the radiator and fan I'm not really sure where to set the mounts.

You can buy the crossmember for a FE engine that will work with the stock 300 mounts and pads. It worked great on my 55 frame and I would guess the 58 frame is the same width ( but not sure). Check out my basket case build and also MTP Hammer's thread in the 48-56 section to see two 300 installs.
