towing capacity of my x

The maximum any Ex was ever "rated" in tow rating capacity is 11,000#'s
Those Ex's would be the 7.3L, 6.oH both with 3.73's and the V10 with 4.30's
I tow a 9000# TT behind my Ex and I'm AT or can actually be slight OVER the 8900# GVWR of my Ex because of the 1100# (no water) to 1200#'s (with fresh water) of tongue weight...my GCW when hitched is 17,000#'s...and the PSD versions are even WORSE when it comes to GVWR even though the PSD Ex has a higher GVWR (9200#) the PSD weighs significantly MORE than the V10 thus reducing the overall available payload.
I have 4 people in my family and carry some stuff inside the Ex when we tow.
No matter how you slice it...even though Ford "rates" these trucks at 11,000#'s maximum tow rating if properly equipped...medium to larger families WILL max out the GVWR of the Ex LONG BEFORE you approach the "max" tow rating.
Forest has a good question...that 11,659 is an "odd" number almost like it is an actual weight...if that is the case...it is my opinion...you are out of an Ex's league no matter what motor you have...this of course is just my opinion...
Good luck,
Joe.

the hitch weight is 1235 pounds. I believe the trailer is the Residence from Keystone, Jayco also has one called the bungalow. They advertise them as travel trailers but someone else told me they are meant for towing a bit and then parking for long periods of time. Very nice trailers though.

So in reading all this info and thread I started on Towing Help it sounds like towing my TT with a curb weight of 8100lbs and close to 10500 loaded to camp in is possible but near the max correct? 2005 4x4 V10 with 373's.....if I add my 4 family members we are maxing out GVW of EX as well.

GVWR of the TT is a good starting point but actual scale weights would be the most accurate.
Your family of four may be larger or smaller (i.e. heavier or lighter) than the next family of four...think about say William the Fridge Perry's family versus say minnie me's family...BIG difference in weight and available payload of the Ex
Chances are though that the GVWR and the rear GAWR are the two that you will max out given the weight of the TT and required tongue weight for towing stability...the GCWR on the Ex is the LAST rating you will exceed in my experience.
Good luck,
Joe.

either way that would be to much to put behind an X!
