Rebuilding the F-1 Draglink

Hello all, I am getting around to putting new inards into the F-1 draglink on both ends...my questions are which end of the draglink is for the spindle as they are a bit offset....and how do you get the rubber cover over the ball? as it seems way tight? Thanx guys as always I appreciate your help

Put the cover over the ball first, then slip the drag ling on then tighten the rubber on around it.

The drag link fits on with the shorter end on pitman arm, longer end fits on spindle. Hole that is centered goes on pitman arm. Note the positions of the grease fittings in the pictures. Here's some pics:
