1951 f2 leaded vs unleaded
I just bought a 1951 f2 for my dad. He just retired and it needs some work so it will be a good father/son project. We literally just had the truck dropped off yesterday, so have no idea what is in store for us. The first of I am sure many questions: Does the f2 use leaded or unleaded gasoline. If its leaded are there any additives you would recommend. Thanks!

Welcome to FTE!! You got any pictures? Where are you? Glad to hear about a father son project. Good for you. As far as the gas issue, it's a non issue in my opinion. I drive my 49 flathead practically every day. I use what's at the pumps and have had no issues. I'm sure somebody will chime in and say otherwise. But that's my opinion. Don't sweat it.

Welcome to the forum!
I agree, the additives they sell as "lead substitutes" are just a light oil, do nothing useful. Lead was actually bad for engines anyway, a band-aid for cheap exhaust seats and poor combustion chamber design.
