Yup, a real VW, with an air cooled boxer four mounted in the rear of the car. Its a 1969 Karmann Ghia coupe. The new ones are nice and all but are really cheaper Audi's. For VW stuff on the 'net I hang out at thesamba.com.

I used to have an '83 Scirocco and a '67 Beetle. Fun little cars. I've worked on a bunch of VWs. Minus the wiring, they are solid cars. VWVortex.com is another good forum site for VWs.

My first car was......a beetle but hey it was black so it was a little less girly, a very little. It was a good car though had a manual tranny which is how I learned to drive a stick and after all the stalls and grinding of gears it never went wrong. Plus it got 30+ mpg.

My first car was a red VW fastback. Girlfriend blew the motor. Couldn't rebuild it, so the mechanic rebuilt the motor from a Porsche 914 instead. Very nice VW after that.
