How do I tell if my truck is a FX4 or FX4 Lariat?

I have a 2008 F250 diesel 4x4 with FX4 emblems and it came with a prefered equipment package 605A. It has leather, power mirrors, adjustable pedals, backup sensors, tailgate step and bed extender. It has 20" 8 spoke wheels that I have seen described as Larait wheels. Would it have Lariat emblems if it was a Lariat? Or is there a code number in the VIN that tells if its a Lariat?

In 2008, FX4 was a full trim level, not an add-on. So you have an FX4, not a Lariat. In previous years, FX4 could be a Lariat AND an FX4, but not in 2008.

Wow. You learn all kinds of stuff here. I thought FX4 was rancho shocks and skid plates, and that could be added to any 4x4 - xl, xlt, lariat, king ranch, or harley? Mine doesn't have the shocks and plates, so no FX4 but it is a 4x4 lariat.

I have the same, except my preferred package was 608A, but I do have Lariat package with emblems. On my window sticker, it states that I have the 4x4 package which is skid plates and Rancho shocks. I do not have FX4 decals. Oh, and I have 275-70E/R18's, per sticker, so 20's are not on all Lariats.

Starting with the 2008 model year, the FX4 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE (55F) was renamed to 4X4 OFF ROAD PACKAGE (17X)*. The FX4 "tag" was then converted into a full trim level that fits between XLT & Lariat.
