Hello,

I have a new to me 1999 Ranger XLT Sport 3.0 L Automatic 4x4.

I have been working on some problems with it, by using a downloaded Ford Owner's Manual and a Chilton Ranger/Explorer/Mountaineer 1991-99 Manual 26688.

You know the limited info found in the Ford Owner's Manual, and the Chilton's book has more info, but is quite lacking in specific areas.

Can anyone recommend the bestest manual for this truck, for a hands on mechanically inclined owner, that will be executing 99 % of maintenance and repairs?

Gotta be the 1999 Ranger Service Manual, don't forget to get the wiring diagram too. And if you want to splurge, get the Powertrain Control and Emissions manual.

Break out the Benjamins but remember how much you'll save on mechanic charges.
