First, you will have to remove the old wear ring. Ford makes a tool to do this job, But, they are very proud of it!

Solution:

CAREFULLY, ping the wear ring on the flat side with a cold chisel, do this every inch or two around the crank, then carefully with a screwdriver or lady slipper, rock it back and forth and it should come off,

Installing the new ring:

Take four flywheel bolts with some spacers over the threads and a washer on each and carefully press the new ring on slowly. if it goes crooked very much it will get distorted.

Any more questions, just ask!

Just replaced mine last night while doing the trans swap....It had a factory seal on it without a speedy seal..No metal ring.. So i replaced it with a National brand seal with the ring. Not to confident about this seal. We'll see what happens.

If I remember right I did the same thing too, but I can't remember what the brand the seal was. It was one that typically makes hub seals ans such.

I haven't had any problems...
