Gauge replacement

Not talking stock. I'm going for a custom set-up. I plan on using my gauge panel to reinstall, but all the gauges will be swapped with aftermarket ones. In effect, I'll have the 5 gauges I have now, just with new styles. I'll have a speedo, water, oil, alt, fuel. I know some aftermarket gauges come in sets of 5 and 6, with the 6 set being a tach.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody has done anything like that, and if anybody could recommend a good gauge set/company/brand?

Also, My truck is an auto, and I don't have a tack now. Would it be feasible to hook one up if the price is right?

if you are amenable to using a none stock custom looking panel look for an f 600 or so they are rumored to fit and have a very nice set of circular opening for guages just looks like it would be an easier fit for after market guages.

ps that is what i will be doing as soon as i get my lazy broke self to the wrecking yard to fetch it. man better hurry stupid crusher is hungry.

Yeah, I hear that. I'm not lazy, just too broke.

But, I like making things, so making my own gauge pod should be interesting. Since the F-600 pods are rare, I might buy a spare F-100 pod to do this with, and go from there. Aside from what gauges to use, I'm not sure if I should go for a 6 or 5 gauge set-up. I've seen allot of 6 gauge set's go cheap lately.

Precisely. Hmm. I've been looking at Revolutions, and a few others.

I saw BOTP has a nice dash panel. I'm assuming from the page that it is meant to replace the panel that's already in there, and you attach your gauges to this, and put the bezel on it, and put it in your truck. There is also a 6 hole one, which is, obviously, for 6 gauges.

Haha. Nice. Almost like getting "It's a small world after all" stuck in your head.

That's what I'm looking at doing. I like the idea of getting a prefabbed one, but that is outta my price range. Looks like I'll be measuring and cutting. By chance, do you know what the light about '50' is? My dash only has 3 lights. I have my blinkers/hazards, and then there is what looks like a light about '50' on the speedo.

the light on the speedo is red in the middle and it is to let you know your high beams are on.

btw i know that cuz it is the only light my truck has on the interior funny cuz my speedo doesn't work.

F-600 panels fit perfectly, I have one in my truck, I swap it out for the original when I go to certain shows.

I tried to look up your album. Couldn't find it. Maybe I just missed it...

Really? That's what it's for? Haha. I never would have guessed.

Nice. I found them, and man, I gotta say, that looks really great! Good job. SO the F-600 pod is a direct replacement for the F-100 pod?

Yes it will fit your Bump, just make sure that the chrome is good if you find one, there are painted ones out there but I'm not diggin'em. I'm working on a new 600 panel for my truck, I'll post some pics when I get done with it.
Also if you find a panel with a stock tach in it just remember the tach will be a 4k mechanical pos that you can't use, but the hole will be there so you can put a electronic tach in.
