Hey Y'all,
I just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for the great discussion threads and advice concerning this awesome truck. After lurking in the forum for a couple months and shopping around for deals, I am placing my order next week for my first F250 Diesel. The information here was a great help in deciding what options to equip the truck with and the ones that did not really add any value. Now of course I will be like a 6 year-old waiting for Christmas to come, but I am excited to finally get the truck of my dreams. I will share some pics when it arrives and will keep reading through the posts for your bits of wisdom.

Congrats on the order. I LOVE my truck. It's my first diesel and ALL of my previous trucks pale in comparison. This thing is just plain a$$ SWEET!!!!

MV - the 250 is all I need and more. My towing these days is limited to a 18ft aluminum duck boat and a 4000lb pop-up camper. I made the decision to go diesel based on a few facts and gut instincts. The biggest being that I honesly believe that within a few short years these kinds of trucks will either not exist on the road or be outrageously expensive to meet emmissions requirements. Based on that belief and my need for a full-sized truck to fit my family and lifestyle, I figured if you are going to go - go big. Plus being an engineer in the diesel industry I have to admire the design of the 6.7 and I think Ford Engineering made some great decisions and executed a very difficult design with a lot of thought and insite. I want to reward good engineering anytime I see it.
In terms of equipment, I listed to all the folks here in the forum and ended up with a Lariat SB, CC, 4x4 with the 3.31 EL axles. On the creature comfort side I opted for the remote start, supplimental heat, reverse camera, block heater, and tailgate step. All I am struggling with now is color. Your truck in the black looks real sharp, but I live off a gravel road and it would stay clean for about 30 seconds after I wash it, but still leaning that way, maybe with the 2-tone paint to camoflage the dirt. Either way, waiting is going to be the hardest part.

I have been back to the dealership about every other weekend to take one of the 2011 F350 SD "Demo" trucks out for ANOTHER test drive. The salesman sees me coming and just throws me the keys! I can't help it....I just love these trucks!!!<O</O

My 2011 is my 3rd Ford diesel, had 1 Dodge for a very short time in 1999, I wouldn't ever have anything else but a Super Duty, even though for what I currently pull,(small Lawnmower trailer) I don't need all the power and torque, but, it sure is nice to have!!!

Thanks y'all. Going to place the order this week. I think I will sit on the dealer lot for about 30 min looking at the colors and just make a snap decision when I sit down. Now I have to wait, cross my fingers, hope that incentives increase (or stay the same) before it arrives, and hope that interest rates stay the same or drop. I feel like I'm in Vegas.
