"door closed" switch ????
My '97 will - intermittently -fail to sense the drivers door being closed. As a result. I get the "door ajar" light staying on, along with the overhead cabin light staying on. (for about 30 secs. after starting engine) This is more of a nuisance than a problem but I sure would like to fix it. Can someone tell me where the switch is??? I looked for the old plunger type switch but none was to be found. They are probably using some electronic infrared detector in a sealed "black box" buried in the frame/body work somewhere. Anyway, input or ideas are much appreciated.
Thanks, Brian

The switch is built into the door latch assembly. It probably needs to be cleaned out and lubed. All you need to do is hose out the latch assembly with a can of WD-40. The pressure of WD-40 can will wash out any dirt and lube the insides. Good luck.
