All cars and trucks were in mph until some time in the 80's. This is when canuckland went metric. I've been looking for a speedo in kph for my truck for some time now...cheapest I found to date is 265 bucks at Napa.(after market)

Yes the speedometer in your gallery is for a 51 Ford Truck.
However, please note that the face has been changed on it - the rivets holding on the face have been removed.
So, either the original KPH face was changed, or the dealer in the country where you drive by kilometeres, changed the face when it arrived there. They may have had the new faces adn converted all the trucks that came in MPH.
The driven gear on the speedometer cable end (that goes in the transmission) would also have been changed.
Also, the signal indicator arrows are amber instead of green.

That is probably handled internally to the speedo unit, Ford would want to change as few parts as possible. Otherwise they'd have to make two versions of every tranny-end gear

It appears to me to be a recent restoration. It's awfully clean and bright to be 60 years old. The later replacements you're talking about that I've seen have a different turn signal arrow. It's larger and more triangular shaped, as opposed to the distinct arrow as original.
