To keep the deployable boards in the down position (for cleaning) just put your foot on them then close the door. They will try to deploy to the up position but your foot pressure will keep them down and they will stay there until you open and close the door again. Works like a charm!

Yup you just close the door 1 clic boards stay down, I do this when I know I'll be right back to cut down on ware and tear on the mechanism.

I know I'll be removing my boards for the winter. I've always had bad luck with them getting ice and snow packed on them, and the last thing I need is a lawsuit because someone slipped and fell trying to get into or out of my truck!

you can just disable in the dash menu, there is a setting for them to stay up.

I have a 2010 F150 supercrew Platitum and I need a motor for the right side running board. Any ideas where I might find one.

I comes with the whole support assembly. Around $1200 from the discount vendors. Salvage is not much better.

It being 2018, I am doing my research on the F150 and with that said can't find one I like, so I am ordering one. Larait, Fx4, SuperCrew, 3.5 EcoBoost, 6 1/2 Bed, with all Options except the Deployable Running Boards, why?? the color I chose "Guard" , Dealer enter my list, same thing, can't have unless to get Black. Called Ford Marketing, they did have the reason, I think they had a little too much at the Board Meeting. Its just that color, I probably do what you are but only if everything is there (wiring/door activators) because I don't want anything to interfere with any Warranty with items removed or attached to (door panels, battery, carpet lifted). Its sad to see the same issue 8 years later. I simply want to know "WHY", it doesn't in no way slow production down.
