Where can I find 1954 239 Yblock engine components?

I have a 1954 239 Yblock that I would like to get running for our pickup.

My desire would be to keep the block and crankshaft (i would get that turned of course), but buy new pistons, rings, valves, springs, lifters, pushrods, etc.

Where is the best place to find these. I have looked in LMC trucks, but they don't seem to have many engine parts for Yblocks.

Your machinist who you'll take your block to for boring should have a line on parts for it. If he orders them, chances are he'll get the right stuff with the proper over/under sizes as he's doing the machine work. You should also get a better warranty that way, too.

I thought that would be the case, but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you.

A really good website to visit is Y-Blocksforever. Check out the technical forum. Those guys are both incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful.

Had my 55 Y overhauled at a NAPA related shop. They had all the parts you are looking for.

Was gonna say Napa still lists engine kits for my 272 so should have that as well. I have used a lot of Napa kits over the years and they are just fine and the price is pretty good also. I am surprised as to what they have on the shelf for these old trucks. My store said it can still get a Y long block.

NAPA is great . Got brake drums, linings, rebuilt carb all the engine parts, etc.
and as you noted, good prices.

I work at Napa but there is a few things that you can't find through Napa on the 54 239 Yblock.
