axel nut socket to remove rear drum
I need to remove the rear drums on my 74 F250 to replace the wheel cylinder and shoes. Does anyone know what size the socket is for the axel nut and where to purchase one? Also what else should I replace while I have this apart. This is my first time doing a job like this so any help is appreciated. Should I replace the springs? bearings? Are there seals that should be replaced?
Thanks in advance

It depends on the condition of the brakes and bearings when you get into them. The bearing seal I would replace. Clean the bearings, inspect them. If the brake hardware is old or you see any issues, get a hardware kit. Only do one side at a time to compare when you are putting it all back together. Most brakes are similar but have just a little differences from model to model. Go slow, if you can take pictures for references.
