Welcome to Truck You! A feature spotlighting trucks, you and what’s inside your garage. Terry — A.K.A. Furyus1 — has been a member of Ford-Trucks since 2008 and is a regular poster in the forums.
But today we’re not here to talk about his posts or long-time involvement here on the site, but about the two trucks that are the centerpieces of his garage!
Pictured above you will see the two Fords sitting happily in the driveway. The first is a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT SC 4×4 nicknamed Red Ranger, and the second sits in the back, and is a a 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger 4×4 nicknamed Enigma.
Red Ranger is mainly a rural driver and is equipped with a 4.0L SOHC and a 5-speed with a towing package. Certainly a worthy vehicle for anyone’s garage!
“Enigma” earned its name due to the fact that, despite having an EGR valve, there was no sign of other emissions equipment ever being on the Ford. Terry bought this beauty for only five hundred dollars from a retired mechanic who was simply sick of sinking money into the thing.
Enigma runs a transplanted rebuilt 400 engine that has been bored .06″ over. It also runs a set of 2V Cleveland heads that have been reworked and also include hardened valve seats.
Terry hopes to add bigger tires to Enigma, to cut large sections from the bed so he can weld in some rust-free metal to repair the wheel arches, and to throw in some visors to fight against that awful afternoon sun.
This Oregonian is truly a Ford truck enthusiast, and he shows that by his love of all Ford trucks — both the newer models and the classics! So go drop by Terry’s garage and browse the photography, leave some comments, and have some fun!
