Remember awhile back when we showed you a video from Ford Canada that had a guy land a drone in the back of a moving F-150 at night? This is not that video. However, recently over the July 4th weekend, I was playing around with a friend’s drone, and we shot this video.
We recently asked what you wanted to know about the 2015 F-150 Platinum that we had in for review. We received a variety of different questions, and will answer some of those now for you.
One of the most common questions I received from you all about the 2015 F-150 Platinum that we recently reviewed was how can people afford such expensive trucks? After a little bit of digging, I quickly learned there are deals to be had, even on the brand new truck, that could save you a lot of money.
Let’s start out with the obvious; I like this truck. But I should, considering the as-tested retail price is $62,095. There is more to the story than just the price with the 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum.
Switching to an aluminum body from the steel used in the 2014 F-150 saved the truck nearly 700 pounds of weight. A lighter truck means a more fuel-efficient truck, and that was the claims that Ford made on the reason for the change. We tested the smaller 2.7L EcoBoost earlier in the year, but now we have the top-of-the-line 3.5L in for review and put it to the same fuel economy test.
While we’re still about a year away from seeing if the new Raptor can live up to the old one. Although from the exterior bits, and performance data we’ve already been privy to, it’s sure to be amazing.
A couple of months ago, we had an all-new, all-aluminium 2015 F-150 XLT in for a review. The XLT trim was nice, and a good representation of what many people look for when they look at a new pickup truck. But what if you have a few more bucks instead?
