REWIND: The Ford F-150 Spins Back in 2008

Ford Super Bowl

Whether you’re a football fan or not, you’ve got to love the Super Bowl. It’s the one time per year when companies throw budgets out the window, and pay whatever ridiculous amount of money it takes to get in the face of millions of consumers.

But it doesn’t stop there, once the money is paid, companies must then come up with content outrageous enough to capture people’s attention. That’s why Ford decided to throw a red F-150 into the spin cycle back in 2008, with the hopes of getting a clear message to potential customers about how strong its tow hooks, and the entire truck in general really is.

As if spinning a full-size truck like a carnival ride wasn’t enough, they also hired the most trusted face and voice in the blue-collar TV segment (after Larry the Cable Guy). Former “Dirty Jobs” TV show host, and passionate Ford lover, Mike Row.

While we don’t know what or if Ford will bring anything to the Super Bowl air waves this year, we can reminisce of simple times with this YouTube video from ‘seville76′.

Enjoy!
