The New Ford Raptor is 25 Percent More Bonkers

The last generation Ford F-150 Raptor was a hell of a truck. Beefy suspension, beefy frame, and a monster of a V8 engine. It was a mini Baja racer for the masses. And it could tow whatever you needed behind it to complete the race. It was the truck to get. However, Ford is moving on, and is getting ready to release the next generation Raptor, and from what we can tell, it is going to be bonkers.

According to Ford, not only will the next generation Raptor be lighter, more rugged and capable, and be tough as nails, but it’s going to be much faster than the previous generation. Using a detuned version of the Ford GT motor, the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 is said to pack around 450 horsepower. And thanks to the low down torque and the new lighter body, Ford just released that the new Raptor is about 25% faster than the original.

Just think about that for a second. The original Raptor was hugely impressive, this next one is already 25% faster. Moab, Baja, and Dakar, you’ve been put on notice.
