A Stars and Stripes 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor sold at auction for $250,000 recently for the MobilityWorks Foundation’s Cars for Troops program. The auction proceeds will be used to help veterans with their wheelchair accessible transportation needs.
Completing a build is sometimes relatively uncomplicated and easy. Everything falls into place perfectly and you find yourself smiling at the end, glad that you tackled the goal and brought a Ford back to life. Things just go right. Well, for Ford truck enthusiast Bootlegger’s Deluxe things just haven’t seem to go that way with his 1989 F-150 build.

Two vehicles make their home in his garage: A 2012 F-150 SuperCrew and a classic Mercury Cougar.
Wide body king, TS Designs transformed a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat 4×2 SuperCrew into a real showstopper at this year’s SEMA show. The Paramount, California based company added Elbach lowering springs, Forgiato wheels and an outstanding custom two-tone charcoal gray and black paint job with yellow highlights to create another rolling classic.
Oh boy. Now this is the comparison we’ve been waiting for. Ever since the Raptor was released, it’s been the last word on purpose built off road truck performance. Independent tuners and race outfits might do better by themselves, but for a turn-key truck it’s matchless.
