This Ford Truck is a Little Too Good at Pulling
I feel sorry for the driver of the Ford Super Duty in the video you’re about to watch. He’s just trying to help, but he ends up making things worse.
Though we don’t know the specific numbers for this turbocharged Ford rig, we assume them to be fairly impressive. After all, this is a Ford we’re talking about!
Ford’s decision to switch its perennial sales juggernaut, the F-150, from a steel to an aluminum body starting with the 2015 model year was a big gamble, to say the least. That didn’t mean the Blue Oval had bet all of its chips, though. The Super Duty lineup was still going to be steel-bodied…but not for long.
Ford sells a lot of pickup trucks! Last year, they sold a new F-Series truck every 43 seconds, and that was with slower production due to the new F-150 retooling.
“The replacement steering gear mounting flange does not rest flush against the vehicle frame, which may result in steering gear bolt fatigue. Over time and with high mileage, the replacement steering gear bolts may break, increasing the risk of a crash,” according to Ford.
