A Lucky Baller is Getting This 1966 ICON Ford Bronco Powerhouse
What Singer and RUF are to Porsches, ICON is to the Ford Bronco. Time after time, Jonathan Ward and his team produce brilliantly updated versions of the beloved SUV. This is No. 27 and it might have the best look yet.
Technically, it’s wearing a Capri Blue paint scheme that looks black, but … well, isn’t black. It’s a non-metallic matte that gives a bit of a color-changing appeal in different lights.
The list of features is damn near endless on this thing, but here are some of the highlights: 5.0-liter Coyote V8 from the current Ford Mustang GT, Ford 4R75W 4-speed automatic transmission, Atlas ll part time 4-wheel-drive transfer case, Dynatrac/Dana 60/44 axles, ARB locking differentials, Brembo sport brakes, 18-inch forged aluminum wheels, ceramic-coated stainless steel Borla exhaust, and a WARN winch.
That leaves one thing: the client. Ward doesn’t exactly mention who the car is for, because that’d be a breach of privacy, but he does mention that the Bronco is going to a “top baseball player,” and if you notice at the beginning of the video, the badge surrounds a Nike check. Ward also mentioned that it’ll be staying in California, where ICON is based.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go stake out the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Athletics, and Giants parking lots to find out whose it is.
