Watch and Listen to the 2017 Ford F-150 Diesel!
Ford CEO, Mark Fields, has been preaching the word of diversifying power plants, experimenting with new materials, and most importantly—electrifying vehicles for a while now. (Primarily referring to Hybrids, plug-in Hybrids, EVs) But the one thing he hasn’t talked about at all, is a diesel-powered Ford F-150!
Ford, like most auto manufacturers aim at keeping their test-mules secret by camouflaging them, and testing them in remote parts of the world. Yet, by the looks of the camo job on this Ford F-150, it was started before lunch-time—and never finished.
Brian Williams of Spied Bilde, was basically handed this spy-video when the loud clack, clack, clack of the diesel engine caught his attention. Which makes me wonder, is Ford even trying to keep this quiet? This isn’t really “flying under the radar.”
Ford reserves its diesel engines for heavy-duty vehicles stateside, but it’s a very different story in the rest of the world, where diesel engines outsell their gasoline counterparts, and are widely available in most models.
With the growing popularity and success of Ecoboost engines in recent years, I can only wonder where in the F-150 range this engine will fit?
What do you think?
