Is This Fancy 1974 Ford Bronco Overkill or Awesome?
Restomods – some people love ’em, some people hate ’em. Any time you stray from the design of a classic vehicle, the end result is going to be highly subjective. While some people love the idea of an old truck with modern additions, others loathe the idea of messing with something that was great from the start.
There are different levels of restomod as well. Some have only subtle or even virtually unnoticeable changes made to the exterior and interior, with only a modern drivetrain and/or suspension added for reliability. Others go hog wild in all departments, with very mixed results, and quite possibly overkill.
This 1974 Bronco leans toward the latter, with quite a few visual changes to go along with the 500 horsepower 347 motor, 4-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering, and various suspension upgrades. A full seven years was spent crafting the old Bronco into the truck of the owner’s dreams.
For many, the giant wheels and red accents everywhere are going to be overkill. As is the admittedly ridiculous hood scoop. But outside of that debauchery, this is one sweet looking Bronco, and there are those who will love everything done to this $100,000 b plus build. In the end, all that matters is that its owner loves it.
Perfect in every way, or kill it with fire?
