Automotive quiz time: What does one of a body of armed guards who patrol a region, a gray, wolf-like canid, and a small, hardy horse of the American plains descended from Spanish stock all have in common?  If you answered Ranger, Coyote & Mustang, not only are you likely a Ford fan, you may need to get out more.

All kidding aside, we stumbled upon a news byte that just begs the question: do we truly live in an era of excess?  Blow By Racing in Delray Beach, Florida had a customer drop off his 2011 Ford Ranger in need of some additional power output. The solution? Transplanting the stock power plant for the world renown 5.0-liter V8 “Coyote” engine that powers the Ford Mustang GT.

In the 2011 GT, the Coyote is good for 412 hp @ 6500 rpm (390 lb•ft @ 4250) but at Blow By Racing, that’s only the starting point.  This particular Ranger is to be fitted with a Kenne Bell Mammoth supercharger and naturally, a Tremec Magnum T-56 transmission to transfer the frame twisting power to the ground.

We haven’t confirmed frame reinforcements, suspension upgrades or bigger brakes in the build, but it’s a safe bet no stone will be left unturned in this incredible build.  We just hope the owner has stock in Goodyear!  This is one hoofed Ranger that’s going to be howling at the moon.
