2000 Ford Super Duty F250 Review  



The 2000 Ford Super Duty F250 was available in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive models featuring four-wheel anti-lock brakes (for those with GVWR over 10,000 pounds), telescoping trailer tow mirrors, a rear bumper and a few new colors for the interior and exterior. They also had the option for bucket seats, which helped to provide XL pickups with additional space for storage.

The 2000 F250 was available in harvest gold, basic black, bright amber, dark toreador red, deep wedgewood blue, island blue, oxford white, and woodland green. It also had two new interior colors: dark denim blue and medium dark parchment. The F250 was available as a RegularCab, SuperCab, or CrewCab, in long or short box sizes and in a total of 30 different trims.

The 2000 Ford Super Duty F250 had a gross vehicle rating of 8,800 pounds and included a tow hitch receiver as standard equipment. All 2000 F250 XLT and Lariat pickups included air conditioning, power windows, cassette player, ABS brakes, air bags for driver and passenger, and power door locks. Leather seats and power seats were standard equipment in all Lariat models, while a CD player is an option in all 2000 Ford Super Duty F250 pickups.

The standard engine with 2000 Ford Super Duty F250 pickups was a 5.4 L 260 hp 16-valve gas engine producing 350 ft lbs of torque @ 2500 rpm. The optional engine choices included a 7.3L 235hp 16-valve diesel engine producing 500 ft lbs of torque @ 1800 rpm, or a 6.8L 310hp 20-valve gas engine producing 425 ft lbs of torque @ 3250 rpm.

The standard transmission for all four and rear-wheel pickups was a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission, with the option for a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission or 6-speed manual overdrive transmission.

Additional optional equipment for 2000 F250 pickups included daylight running lights, fog lights, body side/cab side step or running board, alloy wheels, steel wheels, and mud guards. Also optional is a cargo area cover, cargo net, load bearing exterior rack and pickup truck bed liner.
